We all are aware about the beauty and natural resources of Ranthambhore National Park situated in Sawai Madhopur city of Rajasthan among which many types of creatures like Asian Elephants, Leopards, Bengal Tigers live a happily life. There are almost 80 tigers living in an area of 1334 km² in Ranthambhore out of which 48 tigers are the descendants of the most famous tigress called Machli.
Machli was born in the year 1996 and at the age of three she made her own territory by capturing over the Ranthambore Fort.
In the end of the year she gave birth to 2 male tiger cubs and one of them survived and became a powerful king in Ranthambore.
In the year 2003, Machli made her name in the Guinness Book of World Records because she killed a 12 foot long mugger crocodile. She had not any kind of fear to battle with crocodiles or other tigers so she became the bold Tiger Queen of the Ranthambore.

This battle was very fierce and for the first time in her 13 years of life, she was defeated and lost her territory.
After this incident she used to do scavenging or hunting small creatures to feed herself. Forest rangers of that area also used to give her food so that she can survive. In 2012, the story of Machli was aired on the BBC’s Natural World in an episode titled “Queen of Tigers : Natural World Special”. In early 2014, she was disappeared from her area then a team of 200 park staff members started to find out her and then she was sighted after a month but in a healthy condition.
She was known for her tactics and hunting skills. In 2016 she became ill due to her very old age and finally on 18 August, 2016 she died at that time she was around 20 years old which was 5-7 years more than the other tigers. After her death, her funeral was done in the way of a Hindu religion funeral.
I wish may God keep her soul with Peace and Calmness.
